Now here’s an interesting e-mail we received. One of our latest Members decided to celebrate her 20th Anniversary which fell on Valentine’s Day by giving herself a Gold Membership. Here’s what she had to say:

“I joined the PAS because I wanted, needed, to know more about this condition. It was my valentines/20th anniversary gift to myself.
Like many I have become desperate for information, an understanding of the condition, why diagnosis is so poor and what reasons exist for the inadequate restricted treatment.
I had read much on the society’s site including Martins informative and humourous blog, from start to finish. I admire his tenacity and diligence. I wanted more. I needed it. So I became a member, to access the information afforded to members and the support of the society in my quest for better treatment and health.
I chose to become a gold member. It seems to me to be excellent value for money since I gain so much, information, support and get to be part of a small but potent revolution. And there was a sticker!
I had a million questions for Martin, but we managed a dozen or so.
I immediately felt reassured, encouraged, no longer alone.
If I am going to get the help I need I now know I have the power of the society behind me. That’s very very comforting.
I hope, when I feel better, I can give something back. Maybe a local support group.

So, thank you, thank you, thank you.
Debby”

I’ve just checked and we now have 153 Gold Members which is pretty impressive.
